Join us in Chicago in May 2019 to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Awesome Foundation!
Â
Our sixth AweSummit is a time for Awesome Foundation members across the world to come together, exchange ideas and experiences, and to get ready for another decade making great ideas happen.
Since the Awesome Foundation was founded in Boston in 2009, we've held five summits -- Boston (2012), New York City (2013), Ottawa (2014), Seattle (2016), and Washington DC (2017). Each has been a valuable chance to strengthen our movement and build connections across the globe. The Chicago chapter is thrilled to host the sixth summit 2019. Can't wait to see you here! 🌃
Join us for a tour of Chicago’s legendary architecture from the unique vantage point of all three branches of the Chicago River. Meet at 400 N Michigan Ave. (at the northwest corner of the Michigan Avenue Bridge) no later than 6:15 PM. RSVP to summit@awesomefoundation.org so we have a ticket for you. After the cruise, we'll head to Billy Goat Tavern's Michigan Ave. location, 430 N Michigan Ave., at lower level.
Meet at the bull at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E Washington St. After visiting, we'll have lunch nearby, then around 1 PM walk around the big public art around The Loop. At about 2 PM, we'll hop on Divvy bikes (approx. $5) and make our way to the beautiful lake-front trail to the museum campus. We'll split up there, with some visiting the Field Museum, Adler Planetarium, and/or Shedd Aquarium (approx. $30) and others continuing their rides.

Chicago is a highly-accessible city. If you want to arrive by plane, it's easiest to land at either O'Hare (on the CTA Blue Line) or Midway (on the CTA Orange Line). Both train lines will lead you to the Loop. If you are arriving by Amtrak, your last stop will be Union Station. The city is also a destination on Greyhound and Megabus routes.Â
Travel Assistance:Â A small amount of travel assistance remains available for those who would not be able to attend otherwise. Please make a request here.
The Summit location is at VMLY&R, 233 N Michigan Ave, Ste 1600.
Chicago has many lodging options, including hotels, hostels, and Airbnb. It's recommended to pick something near a Red or Blue Line CTA stop, as those train lines run 24/7. We will be offering opportunities to lodge with Chicago trustees, as available. You can also find lodging at Airbnb and hotels within the Loop or West Loop.
The Awesome Foundation is a network of giving circles, and every month our chapters award $1,000 grants to make local communities more awesome, donating close to $4 million across the world in just nine years. We fund fun, community projects like mini-golf along Milwaukee Avenue on Parking Day to critical social action projects like supplying meals at the end of the Red Line to those in need, and everything in between. You can see our global impact and learn more about past projects at awesomefoundation.org.
Support our mission by sponsoring the 2019 AweSummit in Chicago. We accept donations through The Institute on Higher Awesome Studies, a 501(c)3 charitable organization, EIN 27-5002182. All donations are tax deductible and deeply appreciated. You can donate here. Any questions, email summit@awesomefoundation.org.
